Extreme inflamatory comments

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

In my experience with other boards, it doesn’t pay to try to sway some folks. If you think their comments are extreme then just don’t reply. Have confidence in your independent research and the your direct experience of raising a child with ADHD. Terry

Hi Terry,

You’re 100% right and I made similar comments on the other board. So why did I go against what I said? You know how it is, even when you know you need to quit responding to someone because the discussion is pointless, you secretly hope that maybe this link or argument will be what makes the person finally come to their senses. Of course, it is a pipedream and thank you for reminding me of that.

Even with discussions not as contentious as these, there comes a point where both parties are not going to change the other person’s mind and it is just time to end the discussion. I had alot of respect for some who finally just said to me that we needed to agree to disagree when we were debating an issue.

Sorry if I did anything to inflame the situation but I just thought it was interesting that some people, who were ready to call ADHD a hoax just like Ball, realized it was quite legitimate. That’s why I posted the link.

Anyway, I hear what you’re saying and totally agree.

Hey, no need to appologize I just see a worthless cause. It takes all my effort to not respond myself. I’d probably just say something that I’d regret later. Terry
