Does anyone have any ideas on activities for students when their regular seatwork is completed? I need ideas other than paper & pencil work.

If they’re readers, they can read. My students are fond of Farside cartoon books and I keep a stack of them in the room. I also keep xerox copies of brainteasers. Any good bookstore has good puzzle books or word searches that students treat as fun.

What about having the students who are done early working on a learning center activity that reinforces the concepts being taught. Hope that helps - just an idea.
