Hi! I just wanted to share some success with you all. My 10yod was labeled dyslexic last year. She went through 8 months of vision therapy and too many reading programs. Half way through 4th grade she was still reading at a kindergarten to beginning 1st grade level. Spelling was also at kindergarten level. We tried so hard to give her extra practice but she could not get it. We spent tons of money getting her tested and the results were scary. They said she would never read well.We paid a private tutor with no gains at all. We couldn’t understand so I kept on looking for help. Finally I was introduced to Audiblox by MaryMN from another message board. My dd has been using the customized Audiblox program for 8 months now, since mid January, and has showed amazing gains. She is now reading at 3rd grade level and is spelling at the higher end of 2nd grade level. She has recently memorized a whole Psalm from the Bible on her own! 6 months ago she couldn’t even remember a single verse two days after memorizing it. She also finished 3 pages of 5th grade Abeka math in less than an hour last week. Just a month ago it took almost an hour for her to do 1 lesson. She doesn’t cry or complain anymore and is very happy. We are expecting to have her reading at 5th grade level at about 1 year of starting Audiblox. So far we have been so thankful for this program. She has improved 3 grade levels in 6-8 months of Audiblox and her concentration and work tempo has increased more than I could have ever dreamed.
When we first started this I was desperate but very discouraged. I was afraid of failing again. I hope some of you with LD children can be encouraged by our achievements and maybe this will be of some help or give you some direction with your child. I wish I had known of Audiblox before spending so much money and time elsewhere.
Blessing,
Michelle

Re: Our Success with Audiblox
Hi Cathy,
I recently posted about our success with Audiblox on the Parenting board. My son is also 9 years old and was diagnosed as severe LD. We have been doing AB for 85 weeks now and have found amazing results with it as well. You can find it on their website at Audiblox2000.com
85 weeks seems like a long time, but I was told my son was not capable of learning much EVER in the classroom. Now my son is moving off of the modified programs on to regular grade 5 work and handing in the same assignments as his classmates. Best of all he LOVES school now. From your description of your son, I think you would be very pleased with the program

Re: Our Success with Audiblox
Dear Michelle,
I am wanting to homeschool my two boys they both have dyslexia. I was encouraged to hear of your daughters success with Audiblox. What is Audiblox and how can I get it?
Anxiously waiting,
Dana
Re: Our Success with Audiblox
I’m not Michelle, but you can get Audiblox at their website www.Audiblox2000.com.
AB has various exercises that address visual, auditory, memory, reading, math skills etc. Once these skills are improved, all school subjects are easier for the child to complete. My son gets through his homework at at normal speed now. Prior to AB, we would take all night to complete homework and he still wouldn’t understand it. For us AB has been a miracle.

Hi Sue,

Michelle,
Congratulations to you and your daughter for all your hard work! It is wonderful to hear when someone finds the key to unlock some of that leaning potential. It is wonderful that you are able to homeschool and tailor her education to make it most appropriate for her! I admire you for seeking methods and materials that are good for remediation. I wish you both much success in the future!
Blessings to you,
Janis
