I am homeschooling an almost 6yr.old and I have triplet 2 yr olds. Has anyone used Wilson , done their training ? any info. greatly appreciated. Also looking at doing LMBell at home and doing their workshop. I am in search of a math program for my 6 yr. old son. Saxon? any advice is greatly appreciated. Ari
Re: Wilson Reading program at home?
With either one, you can do the training and even if you don’t do the program the information would really help since you could apply the strategies to whatever you do. (It also just helps understand what’s going on in the minds of kids who don’t grasp the reading stuff easily, especially if you’re not one of ‘em yourself.) Much would depend on your child’s individual factors (how severe are his difficulties, how “wide” and how “Deep,” how much does he benefit from the kinds of multisensory activities and the additional structure and practice that Wilson and LMB have over Reading Reflex, how well do the two of you work on school stuff….)
Ari,
I have already mentioned to you on another board that I think you should try Phono-Graphix (Reading Reflex) first for reading.
But yes, I think Saxon math is very good. My child with reading problems did great with Saxon Math 1. The continual review helps them retain skills.
