I don’t know which program to use. IdeaChain is more the double the cost of V/V - is it worth the price ? I have heard that IdeaChain is broken down and gives you daily activities. I am interested in seeing samples or hearing opinions of the programs.
Re: LMBell V/V or MindPrime IdeaChain ?
have you done either program ? On another board (teaching ld) it was said that Ideachain is limited in that it doesn’t take you as far as the v/v program. what do you think?
Re: LMBell V/V or MindPrime IdeaChain ?
Did you ever use either of these programs ? thanks for your help.
Re: LMBell V/V or MindPrime IdeaChain ?
I have not used either program myself.
Anitya, who posted on the Teaching board, is a professional tutor, so her needs are going to be different from yours. Since she has already used V&V successfully, IdeaChain doesn’t have any added value for her.
You are a homeschooling parent, and my primary concern would be to get something that is easy for you to use right away. This makes it more likely that you and your son will experience success. Your son is only 6. If V&V goes farther than IdeaChain, you have plenty of time to add V&V on later, and your experience with IdeaChain would make implementing V&V easier.
Also, I have heard that the author of IdeaChain is very accessible if you have questions or run into problems using the program.
IdeaChain is more expensive, but I think it’s a safer choice since you are just starting out.

I would spend the extra money and get IdeaChain. Your chances of success would be higher because all of the lessons are laid out for you, you don’t have to assemble anything ahead of time, and it includes benchmarks so you know when the child is ready to move on. I think it is a better choice for a homeschooling parent.
