hi i am new here and have never posted but i am at a loss! i have a beautiful 10 year old daughter, who has a problem and i dont know what it is , the doctors say it is bipolar disease but i dont believe that i was raised in a family full of this disease and have never seen this side, i truly believe she has a learning disorder she has been tested and i was told she has a thought process disorder, also when i yell at her for something she has done she will look at me and ask what i am yelling about? i might mention she is on meds for the bipolar and nothing helps, she is depressed , very moody, changes on you in a minute and has had a few rages, never on me though. someone please help if you can i dont know what to do!!!!!!!!
thank you,
mary

Has your daughter ever had a full evaluation for LD/ADD/other stuff? Psychoeducational testing, neuropsych, the works? If not, this could help identify what may be going on. How was the bipolar diagnosed??

Bi-polar is the new hot diagnosis. It seems to me that many children are being given this diagnosis because nothing else seems to fit. A child who truly has bi-polar has definite highs and lows. These swings are not like what most people go though, they are much more extreme. For most people that are acurately diagnosed, medication makes a world of difference.
