I am trying to find an alternative to public school for my 12 year old learning disabled son. He is not a behavior problems. I live in Bloomfield NJ. If anyone knows of any good schools in this area, please let me know. Thanks
Re: Private school
Cheyrl,
I am also in NJ and I have about had it with public school. My son is ld and needs a lang based program in otder to get to his potential. He is average but ld so I started looking. Someone told my that orchard friends in Moorestown might be worth looking into. They have a website. i am thinking of going looking this month. It is costly. The public school has failed my son as his reading compre is almost 2 years behind and on grade level so far for everthing else. I feel they could and should be doing other things and they are not. Feel free to email me. Are you planning to have your district pay for tuition because most of the good ld schools cost around $20,000

Try to get hold of Peterson’s Guide To The Independent Schools. Any public library should have it. It has a list of schools which regard themselves as serving students with learning differences.
