Sa-sha, do you not have anyone to talk to about your frustrations in your personal life???? You are correct. We can’t empathize with you and we should never imply that we understand those who have different thinking and learning patterns as you seem to. However, as parents of children with different diagnosis, we are trying desperately to find ways to help our children and when you scatter these chat boards with your anger and reactive statements, it is very difficult to use this board for information. One suggestion, although I know you won’t take advantage of it. Get some help!

I don’t need help, and I have people in my life who I talk to. I don’t know everything about people with disabilities but I know them well enough to say that they are wonderful, good people.

I know that you people posting didn’t mean for your coments to seem mean, but I found them very mean, because even though this isn’t how you intended for it to sound, this is what I felt after reading others’ postings, it seemed like alot of you were saying you’re better than your kids and everyone with a disability. That’s why I’m upset, I’m not upset about anything thing else.

What’s also true is that many of the adults who have children with learning differences also have learning differences themselves. I know I do. And it made school a struggle for me. I want to help my children because when I was a child, no one helped me with my learning differences. They left me on my own to struggle.

I think you’re lucky that you have people to talk to and help all around you. I didn’t have that when I was your age.
