Children should try drama because they get to be a different person and they can be care-free! Just try it!
Good point
I think that acting can help a child alot and is a good social tool because the children or students are forced to work together so nobody feels isolated, the student might feel isolated when it comes to ideas and planning but sometimes kids surprise themselves when they are able to do things without realizing they have done it, Acting was the first way I got into being a social butterfly, in the beginning of acting it was hard because people did not know that I remembered my lines by listening to a tape, (this is the method Tom cruise uses) I cant comprehend what I read and I find it very difficult to focus my eyes on words and repeat the pattern of reading the same words over and over so I use a tape recorder
sometimes if I forget people will help me out, I find it easy to make friends when I am in Drama class because we each have different things to do and we all have to work together, but the funny thing is that I was so afraid of saying I use a tape recorder because I have trouble remembering what I read and that while people think I read well many of them dont know that I struggle with it and stutter alot when i do it, thats why if I do read really soft and than when i read lot I lose words and mix things up I mis words in sentences and my other problem is I can carry on forever without using any grammar.
but I think I am smart and find that acting has brought me alot of social skills. music is also good.
This is marvelous suggestion! I have also noticed that when a costume of sorts is used for the performance, the ability of the child to be more outgoing is enhanced. I believe this is because the use of a “mask” gives us the ability to “hide” who we think we are and the freedom to be who we would like to be. I have seen very introverted children, not to mention adults, become quite animated when playing a character onstage.
