My daughter just returned from a week at Curry College. She attended a residential , pre-college program for bright, high school juniors and seniors with diagnosed language-based learning disabilities or ADD. She has ADD/LD and said she spent the most wonderful week ever. Everything was positive and she learned about herself and how to deal with her disabilities. She was with other students like herself and not only attended classes, but also participated in social activities. I would highly recommend the program to help in developing skills to help the student especially if college is in the future.
Re: Where is it?
Curry College is outside of Boston in Milton , MA. Website is Curry.edu. They also have a PAL program which gives extra support to LD/ADD students enrolled there. Pat Mytkowticz M.Ed is the director and she is great!
Landmark College
Another specialized LD college is Landmark College in Putney Vermont. Its only a two year school, by a good start. It help my daughter prepare more a more challenging for year school. Now she attends Boston College and is doing well, maintaining a 3.6 average. They also have a summer program. What’s especially rare about this school is that its student:teacher ratio is only 3:1, can’t beat that.
