how many days/weeks left for you?!

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

We have five weeks left.
Today I got a letter from school - Fs in language and social studies.
(Happy Mother’s Day - what idiot thought to mail these to arrive
today???)
I have been so proactive my teeth hurt.
And for what?
I am sooooooooooooo tired.
Sped, at our school, in this grade, is such a joke.

Time to clean out the cupboards of chocolate…..

I only 5 years and 15 days left. LOL I’m so ready for the break in 15 days. It’s bad when the parent hates school as much as the kid. My son’s whole school experience with LD has been a joke.
I have an IEP meeting Tuesday, and I’m really expecting to come home with an unsigned IEP, because this time I’m not giving in.
If I”m not sure about something they deny, I’m not signing, I’ll come here for advice and find out if I’m wrong or they are.
Until I found this BB, I didn’t know that I didn’t have to sign, now I do, and I don’t care how many “educated” people they put in that room, if I’m not comfortable with something, I’ll refuse.

I think we are going to have another IEP to
change stuff from this year to next year
as I took him out of sped classes, they were
completely zooey and into inclusion (with no aides).

We’ll try sped again next year and pray for
the best.

Hey- I am with all of you- we have 7 days left. First year of middle school this year and it has been a year from hell. I have OCR complaints, due process hearings etc. still awaiting mediation on one.
Can you believe the ARD committe will not include my opinion, will not consider a letter from from my sons pediatrician and their knowledge of ADHD is ridiculous, or lack thereof I should say.
I can’t wait until this year is over. I am convinced the majority of teachers at that school need labotomy’s.
Hang in there everybody.
