I am wondering if anyone can recommend a typing program for an older child. I have Read, Write and Type but it is a little too childish for her.
Thanks
Mom
I LIke Diana King's _Keyboarding Skills_ too
It is presented differently — the whole alphabet, in order, right away (with a neat little poem: LIttle finger a, reach for b, middle finger c d e, and so on.) . I’ve sat and contemplated why that makes such a difference — not sure why, but it does. And for my kiddos who had sequencing issues, they got the alphabet down a little more automatically!
Type to Learn and Type for FUn are also popular.
Re: Typing program
Hi,
my 11 year old son likes Slam Dunk Typing. It keeps him motivated to see his “seasonal stats” improve as he works harder.
EPS = Educators Publishing Service in Cambridge. The Author is Diane King. It is just paper on an easal that stands up next to the computer. Costs about $10.00 or so. No glitz, no glamour. Just old fashioned typing lessons.
Takes about 15 minutes per day.
