Toni Toni Toni I wish Ball were here. He would know what to do but alas the information Nazis have banned him from this forum.

Get Dragon Dictate for your computer some versions come with a dictionary and a thesaurus. Ball could come up with a remedy for your spelling problem. He’s brilliant and quite studly

Toni,

I’m sorry Larry’s post was deleted it contained good information for you but somebody though it was Ball.

Al Capone is really Ball.

Toni don’t worry.

Ball is posting under many, many names including Kyle and Larry. If the moderator deleted the post, I’m sure it was for a reason. Ball is also posting nasty notes under other people’s names so if someone suddenly posts an insult to you, don’t assume it is by the person listed as the writer.

I’ll look at the site this weekend and get back to you.

Hi, Toni!

There doesn’t seem to be much interest for the dictionary in this forum. I’d review it for you but since I don’t spell phonically, it wouldn’t do much good!

You might want to repost in the teacher’s forums. They might be familiar with it.

Take care,
Barb

Go to your local electronic gadgets store and ask for a Franklin Speller. This is a magical gadget that matches what you can spell (even if it is mostly phonetic) and brings up a list of possible words for you to choose from. Most ADD and LD people can recognize the correct word when they see it - they just can’t reproduce the correct spelling on their own. The Franklin will also pronounce and define the word for you. You can acquire additional “libraries,” which are chips with more specialized vocabulary on them.

Hi Toni,

Here is another idea.
Try typing single sentences into a word processing program. Then cut and paste the sentence in below the one you just typed.
Then, Use your spell check program to correct the words in the second sentence.
This will give you a reference to the words that aren’t set into your musical spelling play sheet (mind).

I feel for you, there are times where I seem to feel as though I am at a complete loss with spelling. Then, I also have not fully knuckled down and tried to tackle understanding the rules as they are and cross referencing them with my own sense of understanding how it all fits together.

Using spell check and other programs that more or less just do it for you is fine but, in the end its better to try to fit the puzzle pieces together.

Another fun thing to do:
Just let it loose from time to time and type away as though what is in your head is the way it should be.

Then give what youve written a read the next day or week to see how or if it works. Or at least hold some sort of consistency.

A srp fontik splr cud b an asct to a txt msag progrmr!?

Best of luck and PRACTICE!!!!!

Bill
