IEP?

I see it more with children or young adults still in school.

I see it as the “contract” I have with others considering the LD disabilities. It lays out what accomidations will be made. For example, if we were talking about an individual in a wheelchair, the IEP may state that ramps will be added to the front door or that the individual would not be considered late if it took them extra time to get to thier office/school desk because there is no ramp. My older child’s IEP states that he may take test in a private office rather than the classroom as he is easily distracted, for example.

There is A LOT of info on IEP—you’ll be able to search it out now that you know what it is.
