A friend told me that there was a piece on Morning Edition NPR about an over the counter medication today - 11/27/02. Did anyone hear this program and/or remember the name of the over the counter (I think) drug?
Classic ADHD - today 2002 - is really incurable; some ADHD meds (the stimulants/alerting agents) can temporarily relieve some ADHD symptoms - but that is not a complete cure forever and ever.
What is surprising about ADHD is that a narrow list of medicines can sometimes catch an edge of the ADHD challenge at all. If one goes back in time prior to the invention of the ADHD medicines, there was nothing at all other than perhaps herbs like the ~ coffee bean/related alerting agents.
