I take wellbutrin, and recently started taking straterra…?? Anyway, i’ve been contemplating Provigil-mainly because I work the nite shift.
-Since there’s diagnostic overlap with all these meds(depression, adhd, narcolepsy)I was wondering what other ADULTS on these meds have experienced-particularly with Provigil and/or Straterra?
Re: provigil-straterra comments . .?
That’s interesting, I felt mellow the little time I spent using Straterra.
-It didn’t really do FOR ME however
So far-it’s been 100 SR of Wellbutrin NODOZ(use as prescribed)
-and clonapin-as the best best bennie for sleep- given it’s LONG half-life-relative to the others. I’m currently looking into Remeron as a possible replacement for Clonapin-given it’s addiction potential.
I have with both
strattera I would not give to my worst enemy.I felt comatosed on it and come to think of it I had more anger as well.Wellbutrin is helpful but does not seem to do the trick when it comes to getting things done.Wellbutrin and the sample of provigal seems to help alot but I have to get aproved for it before the drug store will fill the script and as we all know how much the insur. company loves us adults with ADD I am keeping my fingures crossed.Good luck
hi
I am 22 and was just dx with adhd and dyslexia about 6 months ago. I have taken sevarl diff meds. Wellbutrin didn’t do anything for me. stratra helps some at the lower doeses but weres off by early afternoon. the higher does gave me insomnia luckly it doesn’t seem to affect my anger and mood but it doesn’t do the full trick eathere. I also take concerta and it helps a little but not much and weres off quickly. I take the highst does of concerta!. i have been trying to find a med combination that works for about 6 months now with out success.
Re: provigil-straterra comments . .?
Historically, the single classification of meds most closely associated with the temporary reduction of ADHD symptoms is the central nervous system stimulants/alerting agents. Perhaps the weakest stimulant/alerting agent is coffee/caffeine compounds; perhaps the strongest is Adderall; and, perhaps the best-known is Ritalin.
When a person with ADHD begins to try drugs outside of that category, often they find the drugs work differently and are not as effective for them as the original group of ADHD meds.
The ADHD meds are not interchangeable in the real world although there are lots of reports often in the general news media which falsely suggest they are (my view).
Best wishes. Good luck.
I am 33, recently diagnosed with ADD and tried Strattera for about two months. Its a strong medication. I didn’t like it. My wife said she thought it helped but I didn’t like the side effects. It made my mood crazy. I don’t get mad very often, nor do I loose my temper very easy but on Strattera I would feel these huge rushes of anger swell in me the moment I got upset about something. It was really strange. I have talked to others on Strattera that experienced similar feelings.
Be careful.
