Hi:
A new private school (with generous gov’t funding) is opening by my workplace here in Vancouver that offers a Mediated learning program (Feuerstein theories??) The students will be autistic spectrum, ld, gifted, downs syndrome..quite a mixed bag. Any info on the efficacy of this approach will be most appreciated. I have been around the ld block so to speak and have never heard of this approach!!
I am a Instrumental Enrichment trainer. This program teaches cognitive skills. It has a unique approach to teaching problem solving and thinking. If you really want to learn about the program go to http://www.icelp.org
I am a firm believer in this type of instruction. The teacher is really a facilitator and is there to mediate the student’s thinking. The student learns to solve problems and to be able to verbalize their thinking. It teaches many cognitive skills and can raise IQ scores. You will be very impressed with the program.
