Howdy to the moderators

I think it’s becoming relevant that this guest thingy isn’t going to work. I commend you on your efforts to allow all people to post, freedom of speech and all that…yadda yadda. But people will join this board because of the members, and what is offered here, not the guests, and what they offer. Guests should be free to read the board, but not reply in the way we can. Every board I have gone to works this way. Just reading the guest posts (as well as the posts I have had to resort to write) will deter more genuine guests than, will attract genuine guests. I, too like the idea of the guest posts, but it just doesn’t work. What are people losing or giving up by registering? An email addy? Anyone not wishing to register has something to hide.

Here’s some ideas I wanted to throw out there;

Can’t we do a smaller guest registration? Something the same, but different?

Perhaps you can separate the way guest’s posts are processed, for instance; If they aren’t willing to register, they will have to wait for a screening process before their posts appear.

Another idea would be a separte board just for sharing medication support, advice, info and venting. Then anyone with other feelings can post on another area just for people not intersted in meds, or against them. A member or guest could then choose what side of the story they are interested in and we all wouldn’t be subjected to people making us feel bad about our situation and the therapies we have had to resort to. A member forcing unwanted opinions into the either board would be breaking the rules and outted. Guest posts would have to wait to be screened before it is posted. If neccessary, the post can be redirected to the board of anti-everything. You don’t have to name it that, just the Rebel in me!

I guess I could have IMed you this message but I thought it would be nice to get some feedback from others, and maybe someone has some good ideas we haven’t thought of yet.
