I ma the mom of three boys my 10 yr old has been on medication since he was 3 yrs old (Dexedrine twice a day) for ADHD. My 7 yr old was recently diagnosed with ADD about 2 yrs ago. Right now the third child is 5 weeks old and really calm…so maybe we’ll luck out with this one…lol.
Anyway, my 10 yr old has been struggling recently…not able to follow 2 or 3 step directions, and becoming extremely forgetful from one room to another. I’m wondering if it’s possible that the hormones that are starting since the DR said he’s entered puberity could be affecting his medication?
Thanks for your help,
Has he gained weight?
Sometimes when children go up in weight, their medication may need an adjustment. Sometimes kids develop a tolerance for medications as well. Also, although puberty isn’t really in full swing in most 10 year olds, there actually is an increase in sex hormones at that age, so perhaps that is throwing things off. Have a talk with your doctor about the possibility of adjusting the meds.

Don’t you think 10 years old is a little too early for puberty. I suggest you talk to the doctor.
