my name is tara and i am struggling with my learning disability as part of my disablity i cant do math that is higher than a third grade math level.

right now i am taking a class to get certified as a teachers aide and at the end of the class i have to take a test and pass it in order to get certified , my problem is that a big chunk of the test is on math and it involves things like:fractions, division, and other things. and in math i am only able to do one digit addition, subtraction, and multiplicaton. and i cant use a calcator on the test so i dont know what to do because i dont want to fail this test and not get certified. does anyone have any advice for me

please help me

Do you know why you can’t do the math?
BEcause it could just be you need better teachers who will go back down to that third grade level and help you figure this stuff out. There are an awful lot of people who are sure that they can’t learn it — and a *few* of ‘em that’s true for, but most people *can* do it.
If you don’t learn it — even if you do find some way to “pass” the test — then you will be another teacher who can’t teach it and *your* students may end up in the same spot you’re in, even without an LD.
Do you have any friends in that education program who are good enough with that teaching stuff to help out? It could take some time but it would be worth it.
