expectations for behavioral performace

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

Hello~
I am taking a class this summer (Behavioral Disorders). For one of my questions I have to interview a teacher from a cultural or ethnic group that is different from my own (Caucasian American). The questions I need to ask are “What are this teacher’s rules and consequences, and how are these rules and consequences enforeced? If you can help me let me know!!
Thanks :D

You know, I’m vaguely uneasy about this question. Someone else asked the same question a bit back, perhaps you?

Be that as it may, I have a question for YOU. Are you looking for a different setting or a different-than-you teacher? For example, I’ve found the rules vary little in my local schools regardless of the color or country of origin of the teacher. I also frequent a bulletin board for people interested in Japanese culture. Some of these are White Americans who teach English as second language in Japan. Although they are not a different culture/ethnic group than you, in order to be effective they use a whole different set of rules than you probably have learned. You could try to get in contact with them but the rules themselves make very little sense unless you are willing to spend the time to understand the culture that generates them.

Good luck in your studies.
