I think posting links to information about ADHD would be a great resource. Why did it vanish?
Re: What happened to the post a link thread.
Why not just copy and paste?
I thought it was a link thread.
I figured just posting a link would save space.

The short answer is because some people edit the “information” they post to suit their own purposes. A link ensures that parents can see what was actually written and where it came from. If I don’t see a link, I automatically disregard the information posted as unreliable.

Why would someone want to edit information other than length? It would seen that a copy paste would give posters the ability to refer to the article on which they are commenting.

Because, Marko, some people have an agenda and use this board to promote it. They change or edit the supposed excerpts they post so that they say something different than the actual article. Why not post a link? It would take perhaps two seconds and less than one line of text to do so? It is important to know where the information came from and whether it is accurately quoted. I immediately discount any articles for which no source is identified. Boards like this can be a wonderful source of information or they can be endless piling on of inaccurate, biased, agenda-promoting nonsense. The link allows parents to separate the wheat from the chaff.

If you look, you will see the please give a link thread is still around.
As the person who first posted the message, let me clarify my intent.
I did not intend for people to continually post links on THAT thread. I had hoped that those who were citing studies, articles, etc. would post that link in the message they posted.
For example, if the thread concerned medication, and someone was referencing a study, please post the link to that study in your reply to that thread. If the thread concerned diagnosing ADHD, please cite your reference link to your reply in that thread.
When you post a link in your message then everyone can read and interpret the information themselves.
I hope this makes sense.
