Time Management

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

I am a college student, student teaching this spring. I was wondering if anyone could help me to find out more about teaching in an inclusive classroom. Particularly, how do I manage time between the general classroom learners and the individualized attention that a child with a learning disability would need?

Thanks everybody :)

I have been teaching full-time for 13 years and am still unable to answer your question. Our department has gone from an assistant in each room, to one assistant for four teachers (and she does recess duty in the elementary school). Many of my students have full inclusion. I have not been able to modify ONE assignment or preview ONE test so far this year! I swear, if I had an 18 hour work day, I still wouldn’t have enough time to do everything that is expected of me.
