ATTENTION FAMILIES OF CHILDREN AGES 6 to 14:
TAKE PART IN BRAIN RESEARCH!!

We are currently looking for children with and without reading disabilities to participate in a research study to learn more about how children become good readers.

WHAT: 2 days of paper & pencil tasks, computerized tests, and some children will receive Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scans of the brain

WHERE: Kennedy Krieger Institute - 707 North Broadway, Baltimore, MD

BENEFITS: Free individualized IQ and school (reading) testing with summary of your child’s performance provided. Some children will receive free MRI.

Here is a link to a wonderful essay by Geraldine Rogers, critiquing some recent brain research, such as that by Sally Shaywitz, which was published recently, also had a big spread in Newsweek.
You might think twice whether the free MRI is worth the trouble!
