P.T. advice needed

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

I have a new three year old student. At this point, I am not sure if this child has a learning disability, cognitive disorder or what. He has a very immature gait. Looks as if he has a mild case of C.P.(but according to testing- they can’t find anything). When he runs, he falls about every 20 feet (luckily they are close to the ground at 3). I am doing some balance and vistibular activities, but I am looking at any other activities that might help. Any ideas?

He could have some visual things going on. I have problems with depth perception and I have the stitches in my chin to prove it :=D

This child NEEDS a neurological eval to rule out developmental coordination disorder. Your description of him strongly suggests the presence of this disorder. He should also have an OT evaluation.
