Special Ed information in different languages

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

Hello,

I am wondering if anyone knows if there are forms written in various languages with information about different disabilities that I could find on the internet. I am looking for brief information sheets on LD, dyslexia, etc written in Japanese, Korean, German, French, etc. I checked the website of San Francisco schools and found publications but mostly about the law. Any info would be appreciated. KD

I don’t know anything about forms or short sound bites, but I can direct you to some very good info in French about ADHD which I found for an exchange student (who had all the symptoms in spades) last summer.

The Universite de Quebec a Montreal (UQAM) has a lot of good info on their website. I am not sure exactly what route I used to get it, but look around. Try typing in TA or TDA or Troubles d’Apprentissage, also ADHD, Deficite d’Attention, etc..

A lot of this info was translated from English, info from a well-known doctor in Florida. The point is that it was *well* translated. Avoid computer translation services at all times; the results are so bad they are funny, but not at all useful.
