Withdraw for PACE?

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

Hi,
Do I need to withdraw my almost 11 year old son from school daily to do 15 minutes of Neuronet and 45-60 of PACE? The Neuronet and Pace activities will be mixed up for optimum benefit from a motivation/frustration/fatique standpoint.

Searching old posts for this sort of advice is not as easy as it once once. I kind of recall the advice being to withdraw due to the intensity of the pgm. but I may be mixing that up with another pgm.

My plan was to withdraw him from school an hour early each day, but I have been getting some negative vibes from his school (teacher) about this and wonder if daily withdraw is really necessary. (It was for FFWD. I am currently withdrawing one day a week out of three sessions for Interactive Metronome. If the school balks at what is, essentially , my right I could compromise a bit and withdraw 3 days out of 5.

Feedback would be helpful before I speak to the principal tomorrow.

Thank you.

Sorry, I missed the thread lower down on hours to withdraw kids for therapies. Seems I should withdraw.

I recommend withdrawing for an hour every day. Schools and teachers often feel obliged to kick up a fuss, but you have to do what is right for your son. A child going through this intense therapy needs a break on school (which often doesn’t provide what he needs anyway).
