I am doing a double degree in Occupational Therapy and Primary Education. Up until now we have focused mainly on the OT side of things, so I have only ever recieved the parent’s and health professional’s perspective on inclusive education, which have all been very positive.
I am really interested in this area and would like to know what teachers’ experiences are with having a child with a disability in their classroom, both positive and negative.
Thanks
Re: Developing an objective view
Take a peek at “inclusion: issues and answers” on this site, including the week-long chatboard with experts. It’s very enlightening. Also peek at this: http://www.schwablearning.org/articles.asp?r=790 for some dismal realities.
While I llike inclusion in theory, in the present reality it can create unteachable classrooms.
