I actually tried this out once with a friend’s borrowed CD. I personally disliked the “heartbeat” intensely, so I returned the CD and did not pursue this therapy. I got trained in TLP instead (http://www.advancedbrain.com ), which I think offers a great deal more in terms of conditioning the auditory system and promoting sensory integration. TLP was developed with considerable research. They studied the “heartbeat” idea to see if they wanted to incorporate it, but the research led them to believe it was not worthwhile.

It sounds intriguing, but I personally do not feel it is a worthwhile approach.

Thanks for replying, Nancy and for all the info. My son actually was in the Tomatis program when he was in the 4th grade and I could not tell whether or not it was helping him because he resisted the oral reading at the end of the series.
