I need some help understanding the results of a neuropsych test.
My 16 year old son recently went through a battery of tests including the CVLT, subtests (with scores) Total List A (20) Trial 1 (-3.0), Trial 5 (-2.5 )and Long Delay Free Recall (-2.5).
I know the scores are low - he’s got Aspergers Syndrome and a collection of interrelated executive function and attention weaknesses. The report was written very poorly and the neuropsychologist is difficult to reach and communicates poorly.
Can anyone explain specifically how to interpret these scores? What percentile do they relate to? Are they unambiguous in pointing to a specific neurological function? I know he has problems with active working memory, although the testing was inconsistent in that area.
Thanks,
Dan
I am an SLP and I am not familiar with all of the tests that Neuropsyches use but I haven’t heard of a California Verbal Learning test either.
