slow learners

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

I am currently taking classes towards my master’s degree. I am doing a research project on slow learners. Does anyone have some helpful suggestions that they use in their classrooms to help this growing population of students?
Thank You

How do you define ‘slow learner’? Is it a student who learns the same material but at a slower pace or one who does not learn at the same level? Or something else?

In either case, wouldn’t you have such a student tested to see what the issues are?

Teachers can and probably should work a bit like doctors. ‘Slow learning’ would be the symptom of something. To treat it, you’d need to know what’s causing it.
