A friend’s 4 year old child has just been diagnosed as having executive function disorder. Can anyone suggest some parent-friendly materials that may be helpful?
Re: Executive function disorder
Executive function disorder is not a stand-alone diagnosis. It is a description of problems in planning and organization that we see in people with diagnoses such as ADHD, Tourette’s Syndrome and Nonverbal learning disabilities. Four is pretty young for a definitive diagnosis of anything, but kudos to these parents for taking early steps to help their child. I suspect this is a kid who could use
1) a workup by a development pediatrician or a pediatric neurologist who specializes in developmental disabilities and 2) a workup by an occupational therapist. What kinds of issues does this kid have?

This might be a good place to start. Also, put Executive function disorder into google and find lots of info.
