I work with Juvenile Court and Community Schools. Our system has all the kids that have been in trouble with the law, kids with heavy duty attendance problems, as well as the abused, abandoned and neglected youngsters. (Imagine a 7 year old boy who never has had a mom or dad or a 7 year old boy who has never been in school before.)
I have worked with other special ed teachers as a Resource Specialist “pulling out” kids. So, I have not had a class of my own. Now, I am on the job hunt…when we have a Special Day Class, and we say that class is “highly structured,” what do we mean by that?
John
please note, I am referring to high school, junior high and middle school levels.
Thanx
