Adderall and Dexadrine

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

we have been using dexadrine up until now with success but I am wanting to try a longer lasting med for school days. Can they both be used at the same time? If on a weekend being at home but just wanting to go see a movie, can I give her dexadrine which will last only a few hours??

but not both together. Adderall is a form of Dexadrine but it doesn’t have the kick that Dexadrine has when a person is taking it. My son was more skittish with Dexadrine and Adderall was easier for him to take.

Of course, ask your doctor about this before you do anything, but many people give a short acting stimulant like dexadrine to fill in when longer acting meds have worn off, such as for evening homework.
