Psychoeducational assessment

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

Can anyone recommend a good evaluator in Southern California who will do a comprehensive report on a HS senior with ADD and CAPD? Bright boy, failing classes despite continual effort. Original Dx of depression. This had been under control until the most recent series of defeats. (Our whole family is starting to feel beaten down, so I’m not surprised!)

We have been battling for services for years. Now we are hoping for compensatory post-HS. School District has agreed to do eval but has a limited list of people, who are either not qualified or are too connected to the District. I have checked everywhere I can think of (Ped., ADD dr., local colleges (who require an eval for accomodations, right?)) No luck. Sorry if this sounds negative, but I am running out of ideas. I’m hoping this community has some strong recommendations. My email is [email protected]. Thanks.

I’d ask special ed lawyers and advocates that have worked with neuro-psychs whos evaluations have stood up in court or at least through due process.
