I taught a research methods class to undergraduates and students had to do a research project of their own choicing. Two students, both black, examined attitudes toward health care. Interestingly enough, blacks were far likely to seek help for problems and more likely to use home remedies. So in addition to access, there may cultural differences that account for your study’s findings. These studies told stories about growing up and how things were explained away.
