Hi everyone,
I am looking for software that can help me edit electronic microsoft word documents at work which is compatible with microsoft office 2000.
My offfice is short-staffed and there just is not that many people around who can help me edit my work. the problem is that I skip words in documents and the spell checker on my computer doesn’t pick up on it.
I have short-term memory problem. I think my problem is that I can’t type as fast as I think. If I stop and go back to fix stuff, I lose my train of thought and can’t remember enough to complete the thought/sentance. Futhermore when I go to edit it, I read it as I meant to write it - It always looks perfect to me :)
I have even tried speech software (which helps people who are blind), but I found it found it too distracting.
I distibute policy & legislative updates a for non-profit organization. My work has a small audience nation-wide and my superviors are a bit fustrated with me. If anyone knows of anything that that might help, let me know.
Thanks so much
DJC
Re: Work issue-Looking for assitive technology/software
I have similar problems and I am hoping that a program called TextHelp will help me. I plane to purchase a copy for myself as soon as possible. http://www.texthelp.com
Good luck

I’ve replied in the Technology section if you’re interested :)
Welcome.
I’m not able to help but I suggest you also post this in the “Teaching with Technicolgy” forum as well.
Someone who would have an option is Richard, the webmaster at LDresources.com This question is right up his alley. I’m sure he wouldn’t mind you e-mailing him. There must be some contact info on his site.
