I have a kindergarten student who has been coming into school with major problems. He refuses to participate, runs around the room, and swings from the coat rack. He has been destructing school propery and most importantly has attempted to run out of the building, What can I do? His father refuses to cooperate with us, and does not want any special treatment for his son.
Call your principal and school psychologist in right away to observe. He must get tested, diagnosed and identified. This is not your problem alone. The school must work with this father. You must keep up the pressure on your principal. And if any parents complain to you, quietly direct them to also call the principal and make a note of their call and write a note to the principal.
