Is there any legal action I can take if a former employer gives me a bad reference in the state of NJ?
And what is the most gracious way of letting them know I will use them as a reference. I’m thinking about sending them a nice email to let them know.
I was already promised a good reference from one of the owners of the company. Heck, I did good job, but they let me go cause… yep TOO SLOW! But he did say I was very professional, on time all the time, ect…
I was working with a recruiter last week. I went through the trouble of going in for an interview, spending the time to fill out my profile on their website, then I never get a responce from him. This ticked me off. I took most of my profile down tonight. I emaile him and asked that he take the remainder down with no explanation why. I hope he doesn’t send me a nasty email. I dont’ want to get mean and in a fight. I just hate when I get treated with such dispespect.
Siggh.. recruiters are the worst in my opinon. Now I know they are all the same and will never change.
Thanks for letting me vent.

t I doubt you’ll get a nasty email from this recruiter… the ones who don’t take time to respond aren’t going to take time to send an email. I’m curious - why did you take the profile down?
I also found the Parachute book a real anchor in the storm.
books, resources
Also, Tom Jackson is a good author.
He wrote “The Perfect Job Search” and “Guerilla Tactics in the Job Market”.
Well,
I am ”slower” than you because I only understand a portion of your post
If you think about it, there are more than likely some folks-or at least one person- where you once worked that you can ask to be a reference. This might sound dishonest, but it does not always have to be your boss that you can put down as reference…do you catch my drift :?:
