Dr. Levine's Neurodevelopmental Concepts of Learning

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

For school psychologists, teachers, and parents who are interested in Mel Levine’s neurodevelopmental constructs of learning, I have started a spreadsheet that attempts to link GEI Observations, Family Social History, and Empirical Test Data to each of the constructs to help better understand and intervene in the learning problems of children. I will be happy to email you this spreadsheet, and would welcome your comments and additions. Thank you.

Help. I am a 9th grade teacher. My school district is discouraging teaching to different learning styles. The administrators argue that this is training the child to only learn in the way that is most natural to him. They argue that this is bad for the child’s ability to learn throughout life.

Every 2-3 years our administrators get all hyped up about a new teaching technique and then turn around and ask us to shift again to another after it fails. My head is spining. Any comments? Right now Mel Levine is being trashed.
