What is the best way to deal with a violent child in an inclusive setting? The violence is directed towards the teachers. Is there any guidelines to follow for this situation? Thank you for any assistance.

What type of inclusive classroom is this? Is it emotional impaired classroom, Educate Mentally Impaired classroom, etc.,
I have seen situations in both classrooms. A one-on-one aide was attacked and head butted because she was not paying “enough” attention to the student. When she was discussing his curriculum with the teacher. I have seen students become physically violent when they don’t understand what they are suppose to be learning and had to be restrained.
What is the school’s policy on this type of behavior? Our school district just readdressed these issues and the remainder of the students are sent to their out classroom when a student becomes violent. If the student has to be restrained parents are called, if the student can not be calmed down parents are called. Parents are either asked to come get their student or asked what they would like done with their student. I would research it on the internet to see what other districts are doing.
I guess it would depend on what is going on with the child. Does the child have a 1:1 for behaviors? Do certain tasks trigger violent episodes? Is the child mentally ill? There are different ways of handling things depending on the issues.
