Phonics plus five

Hi,

I want to reply to your meessage. The creator of this program is an expert in reading. My son, is low fuctioning and has succesfully learned how to read.He is reading very well. I would recommend this program.

My son (now 9) has used Dr Blank’s programs (predecessors to Phonics+5) since 1st grade to tackle his dyslexia, word retrieval, processing, etc., etc. issues. He just got his first semester 4th grade report card with a B+ in reading!! It hasn’t taken a lot of time on a daily basis, and has really progressed him dramatically. I feel out of the woods on his cognitive challenges at this stage.

I am a speech pathologist who has been working with a child with a serious language problem who only began speaking at about age 5. We started the program about six months ago when she was 8 years old. She is reading and writing and working with enjoyment on all the activities. She is able to retain the material beautifully and this makes the work all the more rewarding.
I highly recommend this program.

I have not used this particular program, but I have a huge advocate of using a systemic phonics program. I used Saxon Phonics when I taught First Grade, and I have been teaching long enough to see the long tern effects. The students who have received Saxon Phonics training ON A REGULAR BASIS have been much more successful than other students who did not. I have found that the reading series also covers the same material, but not in a repetitive format that makes the difference. I know all kids are not phonetic learners, but found that even students wtih disablies will learn facts helpful to beginning reading.
