We used TLP when my dd was younger. It worked very well for her. We saw a decrease in anxiety, increased ability to follow multi-step directions, clearer understanding of what was said in class. After using it for a year she no longer needed an FM system in the classroom.

What are you considering TLP to help remediate?

We did the full Tomatis program and then followed with TLP. My dd had expressive language issues, auditory discrimination, auditory memory and overall auditory processing deficits.

We saw very good results(improved her auditory discrimination significantly, made auditory memory cognitive therapy easier, attention and learning overall became much easier for her).

There was some aspect of Tomatis that was not ‘sticking’ though and we would have to go back and do boosters every couple of years. I saw much more noticable results from Tomatis (as it’s customized and goes deeper) than TLP.

We’ve continued doing sound therapy for 8 years now. Everytime we go, she improves in some other area (ex. her ability to auditorily visualize or image happened after the 3rd round).

You need to go in with the right expectations. Example, it’s not a reading program, you still have to teach them to read and if your child has visual deficits vs. auditory, this progam may not be the right choice.

TLP has just added special ear phones to their product which in my opinion, makes them one of the best auditory programs out there now. The head phones vibrate the bone in the ear. I don’t know a lot about it but if you go to their website, you’ll find more answers.
All auditory programs are geared at improving the vestibular system which has a direct effect on speech and learning.
We’ve done Fast Forword and gotten nice results with my ASD child. Now we’re on the waiting list for TLP special ear conducting head phones and are going to try their program.
The auditory programs that I have heard of are:
Ease
The Listening Program
Tomatis
Fast Forword (which targets language directly)
Samonas
Byonics (but I don’t know anyone who has tried this one)

Good luck.
