The evaluation process with a 4 1/2 year old, is rather different. Because it is rather looking at whether she has met the developmental milestones for her age?
Where it is not always clear whether their is a disorder, or that development in some area, is happening at a slower pace?
Though this varies with different ‘difficulties’.
For example speech disorders can recognized with a 3 year old, but auditory processing disorders can only be identified in a 5 or 6 year old.
Though you don’t mention what particular difficulties your child has?
So perhaps you write a bit about what sort of difficulties you have recognized that your child has?
