Anyone else have this board problem?

I get random threads marked with a “New” message that don’t have new messages in them. They also show the thread as having many more posts associated with them that actually show up (that is, # of posts might be 28 but in reality there are only 9 posts).

I don’t, however, get all messages marked as “New”, for which I am very grateful.

not sure this is any help as I have not been to this board in a long time and cannot verify the problem but in your browser such as I.E. or Netscape, check to see what time limit your History Folder is set for, and again, not sure this will help, i keep mine set for 5 days just so the Temporary Internet Folder does not get too large, that is the folder that holds the cached pages. libby

Nope. The history is set at 10 days, and I don’t have this problem on any other board. But thanks for the suggestion. The reason I asked if this is happening to anyone else is that then it’s a board problem. It’s beginning to look like it might be peculiar to my computer….rats!

I actually have the same thing but it isn’t consistent across these boards—some do and some don’t.. And sometimes it actually seems to fix itself and remember. Don’t ask me. The boards have done much stranger things since they were updated.

I don’t think it’s peculiar to your computer. I have the same problem with the “Teaching Reading” board, but not with the “Parenting Child with LD” board. Hmm.

Thanks Connie. Maybe the board administrator will notice and try to get to the bottom of it. Incidentally, it’s an intermittent problem. Yesterday and today the only messages marked “new” are those I haven’t read. I use a Netscape browser, in case that’s part of the problem, but in any case, it’s only on this board that I notice the problem.

Another thing: Every other board changes the color of the already-viewed posts…..this one doesn’t…..why not?

The “new” message on this board appears to be totally random on my computer. I try to just ignore it.
