PREP reading enhancement program

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

My 8 year old son has difficulty reading, and traditional tutoring does not seem to help. I spoke with a person that teaches this program and says that it helps develop the frontal lobe of the brain and that will cause him to read better. Has anyone ever heard of this? If it will help my son, I will do it, but it is not cheap so I would like some advice. Thanks.

I never heard of it, but the idea that it will develop the frontal lobe sounds a little. It sounds like the Doman Delicotto creep and crawl method of developing the brain that was popular in the ‘60’s. I haven’t heard much about the creep and crawl method in years.

I guess it stands for PASS (Planning, Attention,Simultaneous and Successive Processing) Reading Enhancement Program. The provider in my area says it is just what my son needs, but I would really like to see if anyone else has heard of this.

My son has difficulty reading but does not test into LD. He needs help but the school cannot give it to him since he is not LD. He has seen a traditional tutor for a long time, but I am fearful that third grade will be to much for him. Thanks for any advice that you can give.
