I am a first year teacher. My undergrad degree is in Elementary ed. I am taking a graduate special ed. class and I have a presentation on reading strategies for a learning disabled child. I am finding alot of text on the history if LD…but not on practical lessons or ideas. If anyone has an suggestion or an idea that they may know please email or post them. Thank you for your help.
Look on this site in ld indepth under "reading."
Or at http://www.auburn.edu/~murraba/ — the “letterbox lesson” is a winner. (Am I sounding like a broken record ;))

What kind of learning disabilities does your hypothetical child have? To throw strategies at any child is not necessarily helpful. To offer them the right ones can be. Not every LD child has reading issues.
A little more information could be helpful here.
