Orton-Gillingham

Submitted by an LD OnLine user on

Can anyone let me know how they felt about this program, in particular when dealing with dyslexic kids? Thanks.

It is wonderful- it works and has a huge amount of research behind it. It requires training to do well and a solid understanding of language development. The Orton Gillingham based programs are somewhat easier to use- but for a child with intensive needs I would choose OG almost every time.

Ann,

This article will explain what O-G based programs do and introduce you to some of the common ones.
