Phono-Graphix Presentations were successful!!!

Hi Everyone,
I wanted to give you an update on my PG presentations. I had a total of 70 sped and reg ed elementary school teachers in my three presentations. It was just great! They all were very positive and many want trained! I told them to get in touch with their administrator and ask. I was very pleased and I have my fingers crossed. I have heard that my school district, Loudoun County, VA. is taking Reading Recovery out of many schools due to it’s cost. I would say too, because it doesn’t work without a phonics piece. PG works very well with Reading Recovery. I hope that I can step in with PG, but I won’t hold my breathe. Time will tell!
On a lighter note, I have just finished my arrangements to go to the PG convention. To those of you going? Is anyone renting a car? I will be staying at the Ramada Inn instead of the convention hotel. I saved about a hundred dollars a night. Those going, email me your flight number. We may be on the same plane. See you there.

Shay,

I am still going, but I had a major hitch in my plans! I realized (after making all the reservations, of course!) that my older daughter’s junior senior prom is that Saturday night (very early this year)! I just have to be home. So I am going on Thursday morning (8am flight out of Charlotte direct to New Orleans) and leaving early Saturday morning. I will really only be there for the Thurs. evening opening and the Friday Word Work course. I am disappointed, of course, but it’s just one of those things. My mom duties come first!

Maybe we can meet at the reception Thurs. evening since we’ll have on name-tags. I have no idea how many people they are expecting.

Congratualtions on your PG presentations! Hope it will generate change!

Janis
