In the book The Gift of Dyslexia, it shows several different ways of how the word CAT might appear to a person with dyslexia.

Glad you liked the site! I believe many LD children have undiagnosed auditory processing disorders. In a few years, I think it will be more common to see children tested for it. Diagnosed early enough, children could be given interventions that might prevent them from later being dyslexic. Hopefully, we’ll see progess in this area soon!

Thanks for the website. It was quite useful for my presentation. Only that I am afraid to read the “Laddle Rat Rotten Hut” story during my presentation, because I do have an auditory processing problem and I am afraid that I might screw it up. =P

F.A.T. City is a video which simulates what it is like to have a learning disability. Educated adults and some students act as guinea pigs in the world of a child with a learning disability. Very strong message!

on another board someone’s son did a very interesting science project dealing with mirror images. You might want to check it out. it sounds very fitting for your need. I think it was on the adhd board.

I was wondering if anyone knew of websites or books or other sources I might find to help my research.

There is a terrific video by Rick LeVoie called “Fat City,” produced by PBS. You can often get it through your public library or called your local PBS or look on PBS website. It simulates various LD’s with a classroom of spec ed teachers, and parents and siblings of children with LD’s. It’s a real eye-opener.
